(May 22, 2024) Seungo successfully gave his presentation on nonlinear standing waves-based material characterization and received a lot of compliments and positive feedback from the audience. So proud of you, Seungo!
(May 21-27, 2024) Reuniting with Gun's friends in the States after such a long time! (From left, counterclockwise: Prof. Laurence Jacobs from Georgia Tech, Prof. Jinying Zhu from the U of Nebraska-Lincoln, Prof. Ken Loh from UCSD, Prof. Seunghee Park from SKKU, and Prof. Michael Todd from UCSE). We thoroughly enjoyed Korean food and culture during the 20th WCNDT conference!
(May 14, 2024) Celebrating Happy Teacher's Day with the CURErs. (From left to right) Seohee, Jinhee, Seungo, Jeong Hoon, Hyoeun, Gun, and Cindy. Thanks for this surprise event. Above all, I really thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and love for the CURE Lab. Feeling blessed!
(April 3, 2024) Group photo to celebrate our series of papers: Four papers have been accepted and published in 2024! Five more papers, including two decent ones, are also on the way. It is truly a blessing to have the current team members! Let's keep up the great work!
(March 14, 2024) Group photo to mark the start of the new semester! We are a healthy family, focused on our research goals and dreading big!! (Left to right: Cindy, Gun, Hyoeun, Jeong Hoon, Seungo, Seohee, and Jin Hee)
(February 22-23, 2024) Prof. Kim hosted the 4th Smart Structural Materials (SSM) Workshop. The research groups from Dankook University, Gacheon University, Chosun University, UNSW, and UNIST presented their recent progress in the fields of concrete chemistry, nondestructive testing, metamaterials! Thank you all for active participations!
(December 21, 2023) Hyoeun, Seungo, Dr. Lee, and Prof. Kim visited Doosan Enerbility to examine damages in the full-scale concrete mock-up structures using ultrasound technology. We always enjoy tackling very challenging problems!
(November 17, 2023) Prof. Kim and Prof. Taehwan Kim jointly hosted the 1st UNIST-UNSW Workshop on Smart Materials, Systems, and Cities at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), which was a great success!
(November 13, 2023) The CURE Lab was awarded the Bronze medal and a prize of 2 million KRW in the 2023 Technical Competition hosted by Hyundai E&C. Congratulations!
(October 27, 2023) Hyoeun, Bada, and Seungo won the award in the NDE competition held by the Korea Institute for Structural Maintenance and Inspection. Heartfelt congratulations!
(October 19, 2023) Seungo and Dr. Rhee received the Outstanding Presentation Award at the KRCRI (Korean Recycled Construction Resources Institute) Fall meeting. So proud of you!!
(August 9, 2023) Prof. Kim met his research dad (Ph.D. advisor), Prof. Larry Jacobs (Now, Senior Provost), at Georgia Tech. Dad, please stay tuned and healthy!
(August 8, 2023) Prof. Kim met his research mom (Ph.D. advisor), Prof. Kimberly Kurtis (Now, Chair of CEE), at Georgia Tech. Mom, please stay strong and healthy!
(July 24, 2023) At Prof. Oelze's house. We call each other 'Bro.' I am, of course, much younger than him.
(July 24, 2023) Reunion of BRLers (now LUSers) at the University of Illinois. The world's first and best ultrasound laboratory!
(July 14, 2023) Profs. Kim and Elbana at the University of Illinois. They were really happy (looked exhausted in the photo though) after confirming the strong ground truth for their collaborations! They engaged in a long discussion on polymer networks, the modulation of these networks through a spatiotemporally resolved force, and their modeling. Amazing team!
(July 12, 2023) Seungo is working hard in the Ultrasound Research Laboratory (Prof. Oelze's Lab), where Prof. Kim spent 3.5 years as a postdoctoral fellow. It is such a special feeling!
(June 19, 2023) The CURE Lab members (from left: Dr, Rhee, Seungo, and Ba da) visited the TMIG (Prof. Nam-Joon Cho) at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. We learned how to synthesize nanoparticles and encapsulate a target drug into them. It was an amazing experience!
(July 18, 2022) Jeong Hoon, and Sungwon received the Outstanding Paper Award from the Korean Society for Nondestructive Testing (KSNT). They highlighted the role of stress-visualizing polymer in monitoring the damage state in civil infrastructure. Congratulation!
(December 16, 2021) Our undergraduate students under the direction of Prof. Kim have received the Grand Prize, 'Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award,' from the Korean Concrete Institute (KCI) for being highly regarded in the assessment of fluidity and strength properties of concrete won. They then donated their cash prize to the UNIST Endowment Fund. What a beautiful mind! So proud of you!! (Media covered: https://www.news1.kr/articles/?4539626)
